Self-Trust for Braving Boundaries

Hey! Come hang with me and my dear friend (of over 30 years!), Lora Keyte, as we swap stories about healing into boundaries.

We both love a good tangent (or 20), but the general theme of this episode is the “T” of the GATES Method: Trust in the other’s ability to manage. And as we discuss in our convo, Self-Trust is actually a foundational key to unlocking this level.

We also talk about Codependency, Accountability, the Karpman Drama Triangle (please check out Lynne Forrest’s outstanding essay on it: https://www.lynneforrest.com/articles/2008/06/the-faces-of-victim/), and the importance of rooting our security within ourselves, so we can brave the risk of rejection that comes with speaking our truth and honoring our boundaries.

Next week, I’ll share some tips on communicating about Needs vs Boundaries, and after that, I’ll have another guest on the show to discuss the finer points of Expressing our No without disconnecting (and what to do when we encounter pushback). If you haven’t already, be sure to SUBSCRIBE – so you don’t miss out!

If you’re curious about receiving some support on your boundaries journey, go to https://explorelovingboundaries.com, grab a spot on my calendar – no charge, no strings – and we’ll talk about your unique challenges and available solutions.

Wherever you’re at – you’re doing great.

Sending lots of love!
